Each micromega frame is made in an exquisitely handcrafted way in our workshop in Venice, requiring particular manual and technical skills, as well as years of experience.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

A very limited production allows us to create each frame to measure, according to the aesthetic and technical needs of each customer.
\nThe assembly process starts from the lens, that are cut by hand or through specific machinery, depending the type of work requested. Then the titanium wire “bridge” that joins the two lenses, part of our international patent, is created. It almost seems to “sew” them together. Finally the temples, also with a joint made of titanium wire, are assembled to the lenses.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The assembly system that uses the titanium wire allows us such freedom of expression that even the most extravagant eyewear is still simple in its realization.
\nThe opportunities to create something new are always welcome, and often they come from the final customers. A particular shape, a different color, a purpose not thought of before, are just some of the requests we receive most frequently.

The basic intuition, founding our entire project, is the research for minimal eyewear that can be created with little material and with the use of a few essential tools.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

It all starts with five pieces of titanium wire: two for each temple, and one for the bridge. By adding two silicone nose pads, the overall weight of the frame is only 0.9g. The lenses we use are exclusively of the highest quality, with a high refraction index, which allows us to reduce weights and thicknesses.
\nThe Italian Certottica<\/em> institute carried out a certified weighing for us, making it official the lightest frame in the world is our \u201cCult\u201d model.

Working by subtraction, we arrived at a product that was devoid of all the weak points of traditional eyewear: screws, glues, welds, rivets.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In this way, our patented assembly method allows us to create very resistant glasses, other than lightweight.
\nThe material we use for all assemblies is titanium wire, combined for example with natural horn of buffalo or plexiglass.
\nWe subject our glasses to wear tests to verify their durability over time, and the results are far better than those of traditional frames, thanks above all to the great elasticity of the metal we use. <\/ p ><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Micromega began its activity in September 2000 with the first international patent, filed by the founder and creator, Roberto Carlon.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Growing up first as an optician in his father’s historic workshop, Roberto decided to give light to his personal idea of eyewear, moving away from the world of traditional market. The project started from the research to create a product that was primarily essential, light and resistant, and above all the result of artisan craftsmanship. Micromega Boutique then opened in 2003, between Accademia and San Marco, along one of Venice’s most prestigious shopping streets. Thanks to an Italian and international clientele, the brand has gradually grown in importance and notoriety until it counts among its clients Elton John, Yoko Ono, Norman Foster, Emma Thompson and many others.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
